The Netilion API had a complete outage from Friday, 23.06.2023 21:35 UTC until Saturday, 24.06.2023 17:15 UTC. As an effect of our mitigation efforts, the Netilion API also had a service degradation on Sunday, 25.06.2023 between 16:30 and 17:20 UTC.
Due to the Netilion API outage, all associated Netilion services were affected and did not function properly. During the outage, the Netilion API was unable to accept any measurement readings sent to it. Customers using Netilion Value may therefore be missing measurement values that were sent to Netilion during the outage. Measurement values received after the outage have been processed and retained normally.
The outage was caused by the overload of a service used to provide the Netilion API. To prevent further outages, we have provided additional resources to the affected service and temporarily restricted access to the Netilion API for services that send a large amount of measurement values. In addition, we plan to implement improvements that will prevent outages when the affected service goes down.
